Andy Mooney

Former Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development, City of Chicago

A native of Chicago, Andrew J. Mooney has had a long and distinguished career in community development and public affairs. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Chicago, Mr. Mooney has served in a number of high profile positions, including Executive Director and Board Chair of the Chicago Housing Authority; Executive Director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation/Chicago; and Commissioner of the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development. He has served on numerous boards and commissions, and has been recognized for groundbreaking work in affordable housing and comprehensive neighborhood development.
