Kim Cassel is a leader in the advancement of evidence-based policymaking. She serves as Principal at CasselView Advising where she advises major philanthropic and nonprofit organizations and policymakers in the development and use of rigorous evidence to improve the effectiveness of social policy. She serves on advisory committees for the American Idea Foundation, the Pritzker-Traubert Family Foundation, and The Possible Zone; current partners and clients include major national philanthropic funders working across diverse areas of social policy.
In her prior role – at the philanthropic organization Arnold Ventures – she was a founding member of its Evidence-Based Policy initiative, where she was responsible for developing strategic investments to build the body of social programs found to produce meaningful improvements in people’s lives, including overseeing a portfolio of randomized controlled trials evaluating the effectiveness of social programs. Kim previously worked for the Washington, D.C.-based Coalition for Evidence-Based Policy and for the Families and Communities Research Group (first within the Institute for Juvenile Research at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then within Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago).
