Manny Flores

President and CEO, SomerCor

Manny Flores is the President & CEO of SomerCor, a leading Illinois-based Certified Development Company. Manny joined SomerCor in 2016 as an independent board member and was appointed President and CEO in 2018. With a unique blend of public and private sector experience, Manny has made a significant impact on economic development in Illinois.

Before his leadership at SomerCor, Manny served as a Chicago City Council member from 2003 to 2010, where he gained invaluable experience in local governance. He also served as Illinois' banking regulator from 2011 to 2015, holding roles as Director of the Division of Banking and Acting Secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

Throughout his career, Manny has been deeply committed to advancing economic development initiatives. In addition to his work at SomerCor, he is an active member of the Cook County Economic Development Advisory Committee, where he chairs the Small Business Subcommittee. He also serves on the advisory board of First Eagle Bank CDFI and as a director on the boards of the Metropolitan Planning Council and United Way Metro Chicago.

Manny is an attorney and a graduate of George Washington University Law School. He is also a Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago.
