Lisa Schneider Fabes

Lisa Schneider Fabes has served as a consultant for more than two decades. She is passionate leader who is committed to improving the conditions of our cities and to racial equity. She has worked on a wide range of issues facing cities today—including housing, poverty, police reform, and the environment. She provides project management and program design services to a wide range of nonprofit and public sector leaders. More recent projects include launching HOPE Chicago, leading the Illinois COVID-19 Response Fund, project manager for the Sankofa Wellness Village in West Garfield Park, and Interim Executive Director of the Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Campaign.

Prior to founding LSF Consulting, Lisa had two decades of experience in Chicago public agencies, working on a variety of institutional reform efforts. While at the Chicago Housing Authority, Lisa held a variety of roles, including Directors of the Environmental Unit and Strategic planning department, as well as Managing Director for Internal and External Communications. In 1999, she led the internal team that produced the Plan for Transformation and helped to guide its implementation for the first several years. While at the Chicago Public Schools, Lisa managed a planning process to transform education on Chicago's mid-south side. The plan set the groundwork for later reform efforts.

 

Lisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan and IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. She was elected to the Wilmette School Board in 2017 and again in 2021.  She also sits on the Board of Directors of Congregation Sukkat Shalom, RISE Chicago and the Wilmette Chapter of the National Charity League.
