Helene Gayle

President, The Chicago Community Trust

Dr. Gayle joined The Chicago Community Trust as president and CEO in 2017. Under her leadership, the Trust has adopted a new strategic focus on closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap in the Chicago region. Trained as a pediatrician, her career has spanned public health and global development fields. She has worked for the Centers for Disease Control, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and CARE.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Dr. Gayle earned a B.A. at Barnard College, M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins University.
