Juan Sebastian Arias

Executive Director, Elevated Chicago

Juan Sebastian Arias is the Executive Director of Elevated Chicago, a multi-sector collaborative of residents, community organizations, artists, developers, activists, city officials and more that promotes more equitable development of public spaces, buildings and vacant land around public transit (also known as equitable transit-oriented development, or ETOD). Prior to this role, he served as First Deputy of Policy in the City of Chicago Mayor’s Office, where he led strategic policy initiatives in citywide planning, housing, food equity, and ETOD. He lives in Logan Square with his partner Iván and enjoys biking, hiking, visiting family, and playing with his nieces and nephew.
