Sarah Berghorst is the Executive Director of Alta Futures, the Sieja family's impact platform that

champions those working to better our community, our country, and our planet. She leads the team, including grantmaking, impact investing efforts, and community development in her hometown, Chicago. Her career has spanned various sectors, where she has built teams and brought high-impact ideas to life. Sarah’s experience includes advising philanthropists and social entrepreneurs, launching organizations, scaling an education nonprofit, driving strategic change with Bain & Company, managing international microfinance projects, and leading community development initiatives as a Peace Corps volunteer. She serves on the board of Braven and Near North Montessori and is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow. Sarah is fluent in Spanish and has lived in four countries, but her favorite place is Chicago, where she resides with her husband and two children.
